Ice Cream, Banana Split

4 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
6 c. milk
1/2 t. salt
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 c. half-and-half
1 T. vanilla
2 bananas, chopped
10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped

Beat eggs with electric mixer at medium speed until frothy. Gradually add sugar, beating until thick. Add 6 c. milk and salt; mix well. Pour egg mixture into large saucepan and place over low heat; cook, stirring constantly until thoroughly heated. Combine egg mixture, condensed milk, half-and-half, and vanilla; stir well. Add bananas and cherries. Freeze.
