32 oz. powdered sugar, sifted
1 1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 t. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. coconut
24 oz. semisweet chocolate morsels
6 T. shortening
Combine sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla; mix until smooth. Stir in pecans and coconut. Roll mixture into 1" balls and chill for at least 1 hour. Combine chocolate and shortening in top of double boiler; bring water to boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts. Place several candy balls in chocolate mixture; roll with spoon to coat evenly. Remove from mixture with wooden pick on spoon, allowing excess chocolate to drain off. Place on waxed paper to cool. Continue until all balls are coated. Cover and store in refrigerator.
