| 3 egg whites |
| 3/4 c. sugar |
| 3/4 c. chocolate wafer crumbs |
| 1/2 c. pecans |
| 1/2 t. vanilla |
| 1 c. whipping cream |
| 2 T. powdered sugar |
| 1/4 c. crushed soft peppermint candy |
Beat egg whites at room temperature until foamy. Gradually add sugar, 1 T. at a time, beating until glossy. Fold in crumbs, nuts, and vanilla. Spread mixture into a buttered 8" square dish. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Cool completely. Beat whipping cream until foamy; gradually add powdered sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Fold in peppermint. Spread over prepared layer. Garnish with chocolate curls and grated chocolate. Cover and chill at least 3 hours.
