| 2 pkgs. frozen asparagus |
| 2 eggs |
| 2 c. milk, scalded |
| 1 t. salt |
| 1/8 t. cayenne pepper |
| 1/8 t. pepper |
| 1/8 t. garlic salt |
| pinch oregano |
| 2 T. butter, melted |
Cook asparagus and cut each spear in half. Beat eggs slightly, add scalded milk slowly, and then add all seasonings. Last, add melted butter. Arrange asparagus in buttered 10x7 casserole. Pour custard over asparagus. Place casserole in a larger pan of hot water and bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes, until knife blade comes out clean. May be placed under broiler to brown top, but watch closely. Grated cheese may be sprinkled on top just before broiling.
